ASK YOUR CHIROPRACTOR

A Chiropractor helps stabilise a patient’s body to help the patient get meaningful relief from a vast range of conditions.

Chiropractic is a natural hands on approach to health care. Chiropractors are trained to assess all the different spinal bones, joints and other tissues for areas of fixation. This can adversely affect the way the body’s nervous system is functioning and cause pain. It is the chiropractors task to restore optimal motion to the spine and other joints to improve the way the body’s nervous system functions.

Neuromusculoskeletal conditions can result from repetitive daily activities, such as sitting or driving, bad posture, falls, accidents, lifting heavy objects and even stress. These inciting factors cause the joints to become jammed which then also results in nerve and muscle irritation.

According to research, chiropractic has been found to produce superior results in terms of safety, effectiveness, cost effectiveness and patient satisfaction

First there will be a consultation or conversation to find out more about your problem and health history. A physical examination will then be performed to assess your condition. If you are deemed a good candidate for treatment, you will receive your first treatment during this visit.

Virtually all medical aids provide reimbursement for chiropractic. It is always advisable to contact your provider to check that your plan covers the care.

There is not a “one size fits all” plan. Each patient is assessed on an individual basis. Treatment will be prescribed accordingly depending on the location, severity and duration of the problem. Some people report complete relief after one adjustment while others need to be seen a few times. On average 4 sessions initially are needed to restore optimal functioning and mobility of the spine.
